Nano Abode

Livingston, NJ, 2019

An accessory dwelling at the edge of a suburban garden, Nano Abode treats extreme constraint as a design discipline. The client asked for an escape — a place to read, work, tinker, and play music apart from the house — and the plan resolves each of those into a single tightly tuned volume.

Clean geometric moves keep the form legible from the yard, while the placement of glazing prioritizes natural light and four-season use.
